Matilda and I did a soap-making workshop yesterday, at Soul Gallery. It was good clean, delicious-smelling fun. I was surprised to discover how easy soap-creating is, making it the perfect activity for kids and grown-ups to do together. They can be as simplistic or ornate as one feels inclined - you are only limited by your imagination. Till of course was attracted to the sparkly, glittery toppings that were lavishly sprinkled at the end, just before the final soap layers set.
Matilda's freshly made soaps have been lovingly placed on her dressing table and I'm guessing they'll NEVER come into contact with bath water. She tended to be a bit heavy handed when adding the fragrances, but her bedroom sure smells fantastic.
I think I may have found a new hobby!
....and perhaps we'll be giving homemade soaps for Christmas!
