Check out how Harry looked when he left the house on Wednesday! Pretty convincing isn't he - especially with that beard - oh that beard - how I laugh every time I think of it! I usually break out in a sweat when my kids require a special costume, mostly as a result of leaving it to the last minute. But this one came together easily and the only shop bought components included black cardboard for the hat and some white cloth-tape for the shirt stripes and cross. Harry's horse-riding jodhpurs became his soldier pants, his long sleeved red shirt we fished from his wardrobe, added tape and glued on buttons, and we finished the whole ensemble off with a black belt from his Bounty Ball pants and a pair of my black knee-length socks! Harry LOVES to dress up and enjoyed every minute of taking on the persona of an early settlement soldier. He even won a prize for being the 'Best Dressed'!
Look at Miss Till in this lovely blue floral top - a hand-me-down from Harriet! Thanks for posting this over Auntie Lou, it's a new favourite. What a relief to see these colours too. Pink is usually the only colour of choice, much to the lament of her Mum. This little girl has always had very strong opinions about what she likes to wear. She started dictating what she could and wouldn't wear from the moment she was old enough to pull clothes off her shelves.
