Holidays: Day One

Inspired by a blog post I read recently entitled, 'Our day in Photos' (Yes Cass, if you are reading this, you are my inspiration), I thought it would be fun to blog about our holidays....Every. Single. gasp...Day. Ambitious? Yep.  Of course I'm doing this purely for historical purposes! It will be fun for US to look back on - but maybe not so fun for you the reader.  So, sorry if these posts bore you to tears. But lets just see how it pans out shall we. I may give up after tomorrow!

Here's what we got up to today...

:: Ben went fishing, leaving the house around 6am-ish - CRAZY

:: I got out of bed around 7:30am and did an exercise DVD!
Not bad for the first day of holidays hey...
it's all part of my 'It's time to get-moving/get-fit/I'm not getting any-younger' plan

:: After having 20 minutes of car trouble (it just wouldn't start), the kids and I finally headed down the driveway and into town for supplies from the local Growers Markets and the bakery (Ben usually does this little Saturday morning expedition)

:: Just before 10am I dropped Till at a friends house and took myself off for a massage (Ah, heaven)

:: After collecting Till, we all went home for an early lunch and an afternoon rest.
Well the kids played with felt boards and board games.....and I slept!!!!

:: Ben returned from his fishing trip with bountiful supplies but promptly left again for Rescue Squad training

:: After hot chocolate and snacks around 4pm, Harry worked on a computer game which he is programming while Till composed tunes on the piano (while I cleaned the kitchen - oh joy)

:: Ben arrived home just after 6pm, ready to cook up a fish-fry
and I threw together some salads

Right Now :: it's after 9pm and the kids are in bed (but judging from the sounds of laughter floating up the stairs, there's no actual sleeping happening just yet) - and Ben is on the phone to Lucy while I'm here typing away!

All in all, a pretty relaxing day for the commencement of the school holidays!

I wonder what tomorrow will bring?

Wait a second...did you manage a DAY sleep? Wowzers, I can't even manage a night sleep!

Am so excited to see you undertaking a huge holiday project - it was enough for me to do one day, let alone two or more. I need to sleep sometime!
