We had a school swimming carnival this week for which I snapped 1300 photos!!!! Add to that all the photos I'm taking for an online photography course I'm enrolled in, and well....needless to say, I've been working my camera HARD!
(i) fig-a-licious
(ii) a darn bird enjoyed this one!
(iii) videoing the photographer....can you spot me?
(iv) where did you pop up from Miss Till?
(v) figs again, drying in the dehydrator
(vi) we moved the bookshelf from one room to another
(vii) "we'll help to move the books Mum!"
(viii) there's been a lot of drawing 'round here lately
(ix) those strawberry blonde eyelashes....unique
(x) hmmmm...do you think we should paint the table?
I know, figs featured heavily this week. They have been consuming me (and vice versa) somewhat. I made my very first batch of fig jam and fig conserve (I didn't even know what the difference was until this week). Who knew jam making was so easy and satisfying!!!!!

Just so lovely, that reminds me I forgot to buy the figs yours look great.
You can never have too many figs!!!!!!!! Sadly, our tree's supply is coming to an end.
Look at those figs! The look delicious! And I love that photo of your kids reading, looks so peaceful. Very sweet. xx
I'll never get tired of figs. It's a pity the season is so short. I do, however, have my eye on an orange tree!!!!
1300!!!!
Have you done any editing yet??
What camera are you using Michelle?
We are big Pippi fans here (reading fans really!)
x
These are great, figs are very photogenic, aren't they?
That course looks interesting, quite intense, how are you finding it?
Oh I know...(after a few hours) I did get it down to 260. My camera is a Nikon D600. I ADORE my camera. Pippi is hilarious...she must have been such an outrageous book character for the time when it was written. It's still outrageous really.
I’m really enjoying the course so far, though I’ve only completed the first of four modules. It’s pretty much self-paced.
Yes, I think figs are quite pretty.
Figs! They are so wonderful! Absolutely gorgeous images.
Thanks Lila. Yep, nothing better than a fig fresh from the tree!
Oh those photos are gorgeous and yes the figs are nice but I was struck down by those beautiful strawberry blonde lashes, what a beautiful portrait, the light is beautiful. xx j
Just like Jay said that shot of the strawberry blonde lashes, the light is amazing. Love the first shot of the figs too. Jo xx
Great photos and moments. Regards Kathy A, Brisbane, Australia
Mmmm figs and books! What a scrumptious post...I miss my fig trees in California. These look like the same kind. Pink on the inside, greenish skin, so yummy. The table...I would paint it but also love the well worn & loved look.
I've suddenly got the craving for fig jam on toast and revisiting my old childhood books. Pippi was an favourite along with Anne of Green Gables and E.B. We have been reading Kate Dicamillo|Despereaux my four year old is captivated by the narrative. Have a wonderful week.
Those figs... delicious. I walk past a fig tree growing in our street on my way home from work. They're slowly ripening tup. x
Wow. The figs, your photos all beautiful. The portrait of your two 'moving' the books is exquisite. x
Thanks Nikki xx
Sadly, our tree is just about finished with feeding us figs…until next year
You’ll have to carry a basket to work soon! Just in case they fall from the tree as your pass!!
We loved Despereaux too. It’s a beautiful story! I’m keen to track down some other books written by Kate DiCamillo. I’ve been told The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane is a wonderful story. I hope you’ve had a lovely week.
Hmmm…now I’m not sure whether to paint or not. The worn look is kind of charming!
Thanks Kathy. And thanks for stopping by!
Thanks Jo. Till does have lovely lashes and she was sitting is just the right place for the light to fall lightly on her face! As my photography skills have developed, I’ve become more aware of light and where it falls on people and objects.
Thanks Jay. I’m truly flattered by your compliment because I’ve always admired your photography skills!
Poo! Just saw that my comment from the other day didn't publish. I always have trouble leaving comments :-(. Anyway, try again. I want some of that jam please! LOVE figs, so jealous at you having your very own fig tree!
And gorgeous photos! You just get better and better don't you?!
again fab photos !!! which course are you doing ??
forget that question...just saw the link !! ha ha
What wonderful photos. Figalicious. Yum.
But I particularly love the shot of your two surrounded by books. Just perfect.
