My Mum asked for some updated photos of the munchkins. It's been a few
years since my kids had some professional photos taken but photographers
here are hard to come by (well I do live in the middle of nowhere) so I
decided to have a crack myself. I don't profess to have any skill or
know-how but I certainly have the tools (as in a mighty fine camera) and
plenty of enthusiasm. And best of all...I'm free. Harry and Till were
such good sports and didn't complain once - I dragged them over
every inch of our 5 by 8 kilometre island. No doubt a trained
professional would pull these images apart - and I'd be glad of some
constructive criticism to be honest (how else will I learn). But on the whole, I think I got a collection of nice shots - a few the grandparents will be happy with anyway.

Michelle, these are just so beautiful, love, love, love them. It helps when you have such beautiful subjects! Love Til's dress xxxx Kimberley
Advice .... Stop doubting, stop knocking yourself !!!! seriously !!!! They are beautiful images Michelle !!!
Linda...there were SO many duds - blury etc. Hugely disappointed with my big lens today....I'd unknowingly bumped the focus ring and the VR was switched off. Live and learn...but now I want to repeat the whole photoshoot (and you can imagine what Harry and Till said when I mentioned that a few minutes ago). Wish SO MUCH that I could follow a professional for a day!
Thanks Kimberley...Till's wearing a hand-me-down top that is so big it looks like a dress. I used safety-pins around the shoulder to make it fit better - ah the things we do for fashion!?
These are great Shell! Though I'm not sure it'd pass off as a 'proper' shoot as you're missing the standard (and seemingly fashionable in photography circles) sun flare shots! Just joking! Norfolk makes such a stunning backdrop doesn't it? You'll have to drag the kids out of bed for some sunrise on the beach photos soon....consider that your next challenge darling sister!! Oh, and those two are so gorgeous, you and Ben make good-looking children!
I love a clever Mum too xx
Ah yes...solar flare! Early morning you say. Can you spell that?? Not even sure what it is!!!
Looks like professional photographer pictures to me. Love the simple, classic look of your little ones in white against the stone.

Thankyou Zara!!
Late afternoon/sunset will do the trick too....but there is something about sunrise that looks like sunrise if you know what I mean?!
Hi you lovely person, the only thing I shall add is take your great camera with you and take photos as you see them not as someone else wants.(Family excepted.) Remember you are taking them for you. I normally take willy nilly and with cameras today 40 photos taken keep 5 put in computer edit basic crop etc and file. I find if subject does not know what you are doing you get a better result. Have a look at your best work and you will find subjects are not looking at camera. The kids are fantastic as they are always doing something. The secret, you have to tell the story in one picture.
Remember how you feel if I tell you we are about to take your photo. Is my hair right does this dress look ok? etc. etc. Now I take photo show it to you you say nice or crap as you think and everybody else thinks you are great.(which you are) Remember you have to look after Mum and Dad as well. I think you do a great job and I for one enjoy reading your blog and seeing how you are all doing as it brightens up my day. I am only one person and don't forget you cater for a lot more than me.
Oh you clever duck! These are great, I would have assumed a pro took them. Love how they are wearing white. You should be so proud xo
