Holidays: Day Nine

Where has Mount Pitt gone??

It's grey....and windy.  I tried to photograph the weather. It didn't really work.  Can you show wind in a photo? I'm sure you can, if you are skilled and creative.  It appears my photography skills are seriously amateur.  One day I'll get around to learning some tricks - I need to follow a real photographer around for a few days. Any volunteers?

Due to the afore mentioned situation outdoors, we haven't ventured out today.  In fact, it's 2pm and fifty percent of the members in this family are still wearing their pj's! How slack is that!?

After reading this post, Ben and I have been debating all day long about doing the same.  Big problem is, Ben wants to go all cold turkey on sugar, while I keep coming up with excuses, like "well maybe Friday could be the only day sugar is allowed" or "maybe just you and I should do it for ONE week, not the kids" or "it's OK to eat sugar on your birthday, and for Christmas and on Halloween and other special occasions right??".  The fact is, committing to something like this feels impossible and way too challenging. Plus I don't think we eat that much sugar anyway. Hmm lets see...in the last 48 hours what have I consumed? Chocolate ice-cream, left over sticky-date pudding (thanks Tanya), a packet of m&m's (I was at a play - that's what you do during the interval), mango wine gums (sent in the post - thanks Mum - they were DELISH), oh and jam on toast, and several slices of fruit loaf. Ben just reminded me about a glass of lemonade I had too, and (groan-this is getting ridiculous) I had chilli jam on my salad sandwich yesterday too. Phew. More sugar than I realised. It's hopeless. I'm quitting before we even start!

Hmmmm....I don't think so, but I rarely drink the stuff!!!
Had a sugar-free day today and it wasn't as hard as I'd expected. We'll see how it goes - one day at a time!

I have eaten some seriously yummy homemade sugar free icecream so you needn't worry about missing out on that delicious treat. Though you prob need to learn how to make it yourself! I say good on you. I'm not sure I could do it, or at least do it 100% of the time. But I support you wholeheartedly! I know a family who are sugar free, you shoud taste some of their baked goods - wow. Mayple syrup, honey, fruit juice - can do wonders!
