explain it again...pretty please

I turned a corner today....and I'm really excited!!!! I'm beginning to understand my camera! Alright, not completely, but certainly much better than before. Shooting on manual is working for me at last. All credit to Ben I have to say. He's not into photography as such, but he understands the mechanics (really well).  Mr Technical he is. And lucky for me, because I've been asking for explanations over and over and over. Lucky he loves me.

"tell me again"

Hmmm...am I a slow learner? Actually, I'm a do-er. I learn by doing. Reading instructions doesn't work for me, it never has. Show me, show me again and explain it - oh - about a zillion times...let me try, let me fail and encourage me to try again....I'll get there.

Yep, I've still got some focus/aperture/depth of field issues, I'm working on them all.

Have you ever been so excited about something it's ALL consuming and it's ALL you want to do?? Photography is like that for me right now.   I even dream about possible photos!

PS These photos were taken in the playground behind St Barnabas Church - one of our favourite Norfolk hangouts. Thankgoodness my two aren't camera shy.

I dream of possible photos too, you're not alone on that one.
I'm getting a new camera this week and am very much looking forward to taking a whole lot more photos. So expect an overload of images on the blog. x

yep that's me and my camera right there!Have you discovered yet the lines in the viewfinder and you have to have it centred to know the light is right? That blew my mind when i got that! and my camera (which i also have on manual focus) also throws a circle up when the focus is ok! I love it! My camera is always around my neck, i am addicted! By the way your kids.... wooosh they are beautiful! You need to tell your daughter that this blue haired lady the other side of the world thinks she is one of the most beautiful girls i have ever seen in my life!
