After the typical Saturday morning rounds (fruit and veg market, bakery etc) we drove down to the pier for a looky-see. It was bleak, blustery and kinda ominous (hence Miss Till taking refuge in the car most of the time we were there), but I was loving the crazy wildness of it all and skittered around with my camera; half because I needed to keep warm but also because I'd just been to yoga and had energy to burn! As our jackets billowed and hair whipped our faces, Ben and I laughed and reminded each other how very likely our up and coming trip to NZ might be exactly like this! Windy and freezing but exciting and invigorating - hopefully with snow. Bring it on!
Here's the run-down...
1. Harry asked if he could turn the key in the ignition
2. the boys are looking for me hee hee.... "I'm up here lads!"
3. flaky paint and weathered stone - texture abundance
4. the pier itself
5. the Pier Store Museum - treasures behold
6. kids in the old haunted mill (well it feels spooky to me)
7. follow the grey line to the end of the pier
8. looking towards the old gaol, mill on the left
9. safe and snug - Miss Matilda didn't wish to do battle with the gale
I know...that's quite a list, with waaaay too many photos. I can assure you, I culled heaps! So many things to capture in one place - and I still see something new every time we explore this historic spot. If history is your thing then Norfolk Island should definitely be on your 'I must visit' list.

You've captured some great shots of your SAturday, love the look of the pier & the texture of the flaky paint & stone. The weather does look a bit wild, it looks like a lovely way to spend a couple of hours with your family.

Can I say that the phrase "the typical Saturday morning rounds (fruit and veg market, bakery etc)" kinda brought a nostalgic flip to my stomach???? Living so far from home, sometimes I ache for the normalcy of a weekend routine (okay, and let's face it, a lovely farmers market and good bread. Both of which are pretty hard to find in my neck of the jungle.)
